Home has always meant more to me than four walls and a roof.

Long before I ever started pinning farmhouse kitchens or dreaming about wraparound porches, I knew I wanted to create the kind of home people never wanted to leave. The kind where there’s always something baking in the oven, fresh flowers on the table (even if they’re just grocery store flowers!), cozy blankets on the couch, and enough room for family and friends to gather around for Sunday dinner.
Jake and I don’t live on a little homestead yet, and our home definitely isn’t my forever home, but that doesn’t mean I can’t start creating the life I dream about today.
I truly believe our Heavenly Father prepares us for the blessings He has planned, and I think homemaking is one of those things you grow into over time. Every recipe I learn, every little decorating project, every holiday tradition we start, and every cozy evening spent at home feels like another step toward becoming the wife and mother I’ve always hoped to be.
Around here, you’ll usually find fresh flowers in mason jars, candles burning (when Boom isn’t trying to investigate them!), homemade treats on the counter whenever I have time to bake, and at least one Pinterest board open with ideas for a future kitchen that’s probably twice the size of the one I have now.
I’m a firm believer that beautiful homes aren’t about expensive furniture or perfectly styled shelves. They’re about intention. A peaceful home is built through little acts of love repeated over and over again.
My biggest dream is to someday fill a house with children’s laughter, family traditions, homemade meals, muddy boots by the back door, chickens wandering through the yard, and a dining table that’s almost always too full.
Until then, I’m learning. I’m preparing. And I’m doing my best to make the home I have today a place filled with warmth, gratitude, and the kind of love that makes people feel welcome the moment they walk through the door.
After all, every dream home starts with the heart of the homemaker.
